(...) Carmen’s newer, more dashing lover is David Serero playing Escamillo, the famous
bullfighter. Making a triumphant entrance in Act II, he launches into the famous
“Toreador Song”. The dramatic narration of a bullfight builds from the easy early
passes to the bull’s awakening anger, the goring of a picador and his horse,and finally
the deadly one-on one confrontation of man and beast. A bravura performance of this
piece is always riveting for stage characters and audience listeners alike, and Serero
delivers with passion and panache,from eye-catching capework to his commanding
posture atop a tavern table and his leap, still singing, to the floor. It’s an incredibly
demanding show-stopper, requiring continuous convincing action while projecting a
powerful musical message.

Concert de David Serero en soutien à Guilad Shalit
"Le concert donné hier par le chanteur d’opéra David Serero en soutien à Guilad Shalit
fut un succès. Passant des grands airs d'opéra tels que le Toréador de Carmen, aux
grands airs de la comédie musicale tel que le Violon sur le Toit, puis Yerushalayim chel
Zahav, la Marseillaise et enfin la Hatikva (Hymne national Israelien).
David Serero à excellé en Anglais, Italien, Français et Hébreu. Chantant en se
promenant de la scène a la salle avec une aisance sans pareil, interprétant même un
morceau au piano.
David Serero a enchanté le public par son talent de chanteur, d'acteur mais aussi
d'animateur de spectacle. Il a salué la présence de plusieurs personnalités et a lu la
lettre qu’Ingrid Betancourt lui avait écrite. Le spectacle s’est terminé avec la Marseillaise
et la Hatikva interprétées de façon magistrale sous une standing ovation.

"Nous avons adoré la prestation du chanteur d’opera David Serero, dans un théâtre
bien rempli et vite sous le charme de ce baryton à la voix affirmée. Ne connaissant que
très peu l’opéra, nous avons découvert cet art par son meilleur coté. Habile, volubile et
surtout parfait show man, David Serero est passé d’un bonheur égal en passant de
Mozart à la Marseillaise. C’est certainement l’une des premières fois depuis de
nombreuses années de fréquentation de théâtres que nous voyons une telle joie d’être
en scène, un tel bonheur qui a éclaté dans la gorge de cet artiste haut de gamme,
professionnel reconnu sur les scènes du monde entier mais véritable clown dans sa
prestation et son rapport au public. Il s’est lâché le Serero ! Que cela fait du bien de
découvrir entre deux blagues amusantes, un morceau de Puccini, Tchaïkovski,
Verdi…un savant mélange qui dépoussière les idées reçues.
Au delà de la malice de cet artiste, comédien dans l’âme, on a senti toute la tendresse
d’un « garnement » Chellois qui a encore les yeux humides du souvenir de son premier
spectacle à l’âge de 5 ans sur ces mêmes planches. L’hommage rendu à son prof de
musique à suscité dans le public une immense vague de sympathie.
Avec son sublime pianiste, David a montré l’étendue de son talent artistique. Dont la

Among the singers performing that evening, the star was with no doubt the French
baritone David Serero. With a very inviting personality, he opened the evening with the
Aida "O mia patria" performed by David Serero & Rosa D'Imperio (...) Serero showed
one of his most versatile side: Drama. He portrayed a strong, charactered Aida's father.
Offering a "non sei mia figlia...dei Pharaon tu sei la schiava!" with power and stamina,
holding Aida in his arms to close the duet. (...) The first part of the evening was closed
by Serero with "Nemico della Patria " from Andrea Chenier. As usual he delivered this
tour de force aria with panache and emotion showing the good side of Carlo Gerard
winning the biggest ovations of the evening. The second part opened with Boheme's
duet of Rodolpho/ Marcello "O Mimi tu piu non torni" (...) Serero offered a very
easygoing Marcello and funny through the end. (...) Serero last aria was "Toreador"
from Carmen for which he invited the audience to sing with him, who instead clapped

80eme anniversaire d'Anne Frank à Paris
À l’occasion du 80e anniversaire de la naissance d’Anne Franck a été organisé le 12
juin dernier au Jardin d’Anne Frank à Paris. Lors de cet événement, le baryton David
Serero a présenté des extraits de son répertoire sur le thème : « Quand Anne rêvait
d’Amérique ». Le spectacle de M. Serero a été très bien accueilli par la foule qui était
présente pour l’occasion. Avec entre autre la chanson "La Quête" de Jacques Brel, il a
su captiver son public jusqu’à la toute fin et faire de cette journée une belle réussite.

Le baryton David Serero a pu tester avec, entre autres, de grands airs d’opéra
l’acoustique remarquable de ce théâtre chargé d’histoire lors du gala d’ouverture du 1er
juillet. Il faisait découvrir à cette occasion un genre peu connu, celui des Zarzuelas,
opérettes espagnoles. Un enchantement du public avec pour cloturer le concert un bis
spécialement travaillé pour l'occasion "Ménilmontant " de Charles Trenet. Le public
conquis lui offra une standing ovation.

Ce fut un bonheur d'entendre le baryton David Serero. Sa voix est très belle, et, il a ,
outre la technique, un sens inné du spectacle et de la théâtralité, une présence, une
aisance et un charisme remarquables sur scène, de l'humour, et il inspire la sympathie.
Ce qui m'a frappée également, c'est le plaisir évident que David Serero à chanter, plaisir
qui est communicatif et, par ailleurs, il fait preuve d'une détermination hors du commun.
Cette détermination, le travail auquel David Serero s'astreint, sa confiance et sa volonté
